This recipe is a simple delicious alternative to regular white rice. Perfect choice to elevate and brighten up your next Mediterranean or Middle Eastern meal.
Turmeric rice
1 or 2 cups of rice (dry). I use 2 cups and store any unused rice for later.
1 tsp of turmeric
3-4 garlic grated cloves
1/2 onion finely diced
1 tsp salt and pepper(optional)
garnish: Chives, parsley, cilantro,…
Sauté the garlic, onion, salt and turmeric until softened add to 1 cup of dried (rinsed and washed) basmati rice and prepare as per pkg directions. The quantity of rice is up to you. If you want to tone down the spicing for only 1 cup use 1/2 tsp turmeric and 1/4 onion - I would leave the garlic at 3-4 cloves as the garlic is not overwhelming!
